History

The church of God of Naco estabished its own roots thought the use of church growth principles of cell groups evangelism. On 1986 the missionary Yagna Vanderlirder iniciated some Bible Studies in SODOCAR,a food institution, where she use to work. A lady from family Poy became a christian, her name was Sarah. After she was saved, some others from her family became a christians, Maria Auxilio, María Felicia an María del Refugio (Fugie) and her husband. But they al were set to a church of the Assemblies of God, La Trinidad, at the Ensanchez Quisqueya.

On 1991 sister Vanderlinder decided to start a cell group in sister María Auxilio Poyaa's house which grew up rapidly in such a way that they had to move to the stadium of the city to celebrate Sunday school under the shadow of the tress. Because of this rapid growth the new church had to rent a facility in Naco area about the middle of 1992.

On january 1995 Naco church of God had 29 members and about 5 new beleivers and 35 people attended to Sunday school class.

On january 1995 a new pastor was temporaily, Rev. José a. Encarnación, Educational Director of the Church of God in the Dominican Republic. After some considerations about the need of the new church pastor Encarnación left his former job and took a full time lidershp of Naco Church of God on july of that that same year.

As the progress of this growing church remained we had to move again to a new facilities now paying US$1,000.00 a half more than that we use to pay. However, one year later the church grew up to 45 members and fifty people attending to Sunday School.

On november 1996 we had to move again to the facilities where we still remain but paying US$2,000.0 for rent.

On march 1997, 19 of ourse members moved to form a new church. Nevetheless the growth of the Congregation rever stoped because we reached out the same numbr of members we had on march in just 18 months.

To identify our work, on 1996 we start colling the church (Naco Worship Center) Centro de Adoración Naco. At the presente moments, we are working reaching out the people with the evangelistic strategy through family groups. Our groups are called (Agape Groups) Grupos Agape, we have 15 of them working every week and have 5 more in project before the year 2000. We are training new ministers of the Grupos Agape who will be in charged of the new family groups. Most of our members are involved in this evangelistic strategy.
